The Reader

Sometimes it's a lecture, sometimes it's a phrase or words of a particular teacher or a leader whom we admire, sometimes it's a lesson from a parent or a friend, or even a life experience that explodes our conception of what is possible in the world or what's possible in us.

Sometimes it's a book that changes the way we think forever. Books provide us a magic portal to travel in an entirely new world. It turns loneliness to solitude and makes the journey of life more informative as well as enjoyable. With the advent of digital books, it has become easier to access the portal of knowledge and it certainly has extended the reach of a reader. With the pace of digitization, it may be possible that the next generation may not be able to read books the same way as we do. A book in any format may read the same, but there is something about the smell of print that e-books just can't capture. The sweet smell of the printed pages, the aroma of beautiful bindings, the fresh scent of paper, ink and glue, the touch, the smell, it's something divine to feel and difficult to describe in words. That feeling is combination of some words which paper can't handle.
