It seems, we are in love with speed. May be that's why we seem to be in race with others. Be it in education, profession, business or anything else. We tend to compete with others and want to outpace everyone. But don't you think that you are missing something in this fast life?
I think that I cannot preserve my health and spirits, unless I spend four hours a day at least—and it is commonly more than that—sauntering through the woods and over the hills and fields, absolutely free from all worldly engagements.
~Henry David Thoreau

What is Sauntering?
Defined by Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word ‘saunter’ means “to walk about in an idle or leisurely manner.” It probably derives from the Middle English word santren, which meant 'to muse' the dictionary mentions.
World Sauntering Day, June 19.
The purpose of celebrating June 19 as World Sauntering Day is to remind people to take a break from routine, pause for a moment, size up their hectic schedules, and slow down for a bit and to encourage them to take a leisurely walk.
Use your Tea/Lunch break or leave a little early from office to take a stroll in a nearby park. Find a place to sit with a book in hand and spend some time observing people and simultaneously take a sip of your coffee.
If you don't want to go out, no problem, just relax! The purpose of this day is to get you away from the monotonous routine and find a way to relax. Whether you go out and stroll a little or chill at home with a coffee or watch some favorite movie from your collection. Just enjoy your own company!
